Happy Mothers Day to all the amazing mothers who have made these amazing students of mine kind, strong, and courageous! It has been an absolute joy teaching your children this year. Thank you for all that you do to support your children and me as their teacher. We are all so lucky to have you in our lives! This week, I will only be sending out one email to all parents. Please take a minute to review the work for this week as well as some important dates for the last week of school as we unleash the lions! Week 8 work: *This is a week for students who are behind to catch up. If your child is all caught up, they can enjoy an awesome Virtual Field Trip to Disney World! All grades have been updated in Infinate Campus. I will be reaching out to the students who have missing work or dropped assignments due to low grades. I am asking that they give these another try. If they are still struggling with the content, I would be happy to set up one-on-one help sessions. If there are any grades your child would like to try again on, please let me know and I can open that assignment back up for them. Monday, May 11th, enjoy the day and have some fun completing the Dolvin Field Day 2020 Events! Tuesday, May 12th at 11AM, students will have an opportunity to interview a Dolvin parent who was in the World Trade Centers the day of the September 11th attack. The link to join this interview will be sent to students at 11AM in Google Classroom. This week, we will complete a math review while taking a virtual trip to Disney World! Students will complete 12 math problems each day focused around the 12 prioritized standards for 5th grade. Embedded within the math problems are videos of tours of different departments of Disney World including Imagineering, rides, attractions, parades, and firework shows! Kick off this fun virtual week with the Disney Family Sing Along part II tonight starting at 7pm on ABC! I will be bagging up all student personal items from student lockers which you will be able to come pick up the week of May 18th. Pick up times are between the hours of 9-11AM or 2-4PM each day.
