The role of the principal in student achievement
All school leaders are also instructional leaders. As a principal, it is important that you understand how to hold meaningful data discussions with your teachers based on a many different types of data. For example, a principal must analyze attendance data, student social-emotional data, and achievement data. The principal has access to a variety of high level data, however, I believe that a principal should also be involved in the day to day data that is available. The principal should provide PLCs with the tools, resources, and protocols they need to analyze this daily data.
