Please check below for some important weekly blasts! KIDS NIGHT OUT! Mark your calendars for next Friday, December 8th. Students can donate to Relay for Life and have a fun night at school from 3:30-7:30. This is always a fun event and the donations go towards Team Dolvin Relay for Life team. Curriculum Updates: Blue Math- Fractions- We will be learning about more fraction basics (equivalent, reducing, etc.) as well as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. So far, we have covered simplifying fraction, finding equivalent fractions, and adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Our test day for unit 4 will be December 20th. Yellow Math- We will be learning about geometry in the coordinate plane. So far, we have covered ordered pairs, how to identify ordered pairs, plotting ordered pairs in a coordinate plane and finding patters in a function. Our test date will be December 1st. Green Math- We will be learning about solving 1 and 2 step equations with variables as well as inequalities. So far, we have covered real world inequalities as well as graphing inequalities. We also worked on solving inequalities and started working with integers. We will test over this unit on December 20th. Social Studies- We have started learning about World War I. We will discuss vocabulary (militarism, imperialism, nationalism, etc). We will also discuss the causes of WWI and some major events. Lastly, we will discuss how peace was found at the end of WWI. Our test over this unit will be December 6th.

In my class, we do a PBL with the cans that are brought in before PTA comes to collect them. Please donate to this great cause! The last day to donate is the 15th! “Shave the Date” We mustache you to wear blue to stamp out Cancer! Happy Jekyll Week!! We are all so excited that Jekyll is here!! Here are a few reminders for Wednesday. -Arrive at 5:00 AM to the Jones Bridge Parking lot. (Please park on the Buice Road side or the upper parking lot on Jones Bridge side. Please DO NOT move any cones. We are reserving the bottom level for luggage, students to say goodbye to parents and the buses.) -Drop Luggage off at the cone labeled with your bus in the bottom level of the Jones Bridge Road parking lot. -Kids will take backpack/pillow and enter the cafeteria. -Hugs, Kisses and Goodbyes at the Flag Pole. In an effort to get all kids here on time, keep the flow of traffic going and leave at 5:30, please be prompt in your drop off and goodbyes. :-) We have a lot of cars that need to get in and out in the morning. -If you have any last minute medication, please find Mrs. Morrill by the front door. No students should have medication in their suitcases or book bags. Reminders of what to bring: -All linens (sheet, sleeping bag, towels, pillow) -toiletries -2 pairs of shoes -bag for dirty clothes -2 outfits per day...we may get wet! -sunscreen -bug spray -flashlight Reminders of things NOT allowed on the trip: -No Cell phones or any other electronic device. Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Survey (Grades 3-5) November 27-December 1, 2017 The Georgia Student Health Survey II (GSHS II) is an anonymous, statewide survey instrument that identifies school climate issues that impact student achievement.
