Please read the information below regarding some important updates for this week.
Field Trip Feb. 21st. ** I still need 2 volunteers for this field trip
We will be going on a field trip on Feb 21st from 8:15-12. We are in need of 2 parent chaperones. We will be visiting the teaching museum to learn about some WWII events. If you would be able to chaperone, please sign up below. It is first come first serve.
We have 27 students in the class if your child would like to bring in valentines next week on Valentines Day. The class list of names will be sent home later this week for students to address their valentines. We do ask that they bring 1 for everyone in the class IF they are going to give our valentines.
Flipped classroom homework update: I have decided to continue to utilize this model in the classroom. Students seemed to enjoy it and I am seeing improvements in my ability to help students with an misconceptions quickly and in real time. If you have any feedback as well, please feel free to let me know!
We have been working on Unit 6. In this unit, we will cover Volume and Measurement. We have already started learning about Volume and we will start converting measurements later this week. We will test over this unit on March 8th.
We are continuing 6th grade Unit 2. In this unit, we will cover ratios, rates, unit rates, proportions, and percents. We have already started learning about ratios and we will start learning about rates and unit rates later this week. We will test over this unit on Match 8th.
We are continuing Unit 5 this week. In this unit, we will learn about area of quadrilaterals, triangles, and composite figures. We will also learn about the volume of rectangular prisms and how to represent 3D figures in a net. Lastly we will learn about how to find the surface area in different types of prisms and pyramids. We will test over this unit on February 9th.
We have started learning about Physical and Chemical changes. We will continue to learn about these changes in matter and will experiment to see them in action. We will test over this unit on Feb. 16th.
