I hope everyone had a good weekend. 1. Please note that it is finally getting colder out. Make sure your child has a jacekt every day for recess. When it get cold enough, they will not be allowed to go out without a jacket and long pants. I know some boys like to wear basketball shorts every day so we advise that they bring a pair of sweat pants to keep in their locker during the winter months. 2. If you did not sign your child up for lunch bunch at the beginning of the year, they are allowing you to sign up for futrue lunch bunches now. You will need to be at school by 9:30 and we will get back to the school around noon. If you would like to come with us, you have to have gone through the volunteer training already. Remember that premission forms and at least $125 is due tomorrow. We also need dad chaperones. This week we will be working on multiplying fractions. We will then introduce dividing fractions. Please have your child review their notes nightly. This is the most difficult unit we will cover in 5th grade. Our math test will be December 16th. Yellow Math- We have already had our math quiz over graphins. We are now working with functions. Last week, we covered 1-step functions. We will be working on 2-step functions this week. Our math test will be December 16th. Social Studies- We just started our World War I unit today. We will cover World War I and the 1920's in this unit. We will have our test on December 21st. Students will be getting a lot of notes that we will put in their SS Notebooks. Make sure they are reviewing nightly. There will also be notes linked to their google classroom student drives.
