Cell Organelles and their FunctionsHappy Monday! We have been learning about Cell Organelles and their functions for about a week. We will have a Formative Assessment on these organelles and their functions on Wednesday 2/24. (Formative Assessments count as 40% of students grades and we do NOT reassess these) Here is a list of your required organelles that students need to know for their formative assessment on Wednesday 2/24- nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell wall, chloroplasts, lysosome, mitochondria, nuclear membrane, vacuole, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi Bodies, chromosomes Study Materials are located in students OneNote- Content Library- Unit 4 Summative Assessment Project- Cell AnalogyStarting on 2/25, we will begin our next project which will count as a summative assessment grade. (Summative assessments count as 60% of student grades and are allowed to be reassessed once up to a 79%) You can find the project details below so you can better understand what is being asked of your student for this project. Cell Processes LabI hope students enjoyed our lab investigation on Friday! I know I myself had a lot of fun simulating the Cell Membrane!
We do have another lab (a 3 day lab) in two weeks, but we need some help with donations. If you can send in anything from the list, it would be great. If you can not, I understand as well. There will be no remote packet this time, but we will send home the lab in advanced next week so you may get the items if you wish your child to do this lab. We need: Corn syrup (light color) paper towels eggs (raw) dozen (actually several dozen needed) small clear cups dawn dish soap Thank you so much!
