I hope everyone had a great break with family and friends. I know I did and I got to enjoy a little bit of snow there at the end :)
This semester will be a big semester preparing students for middle school. They will be held to higher expectations when it comes to organization, drive, and responsibility. Please make sure you are holding them to these high standards at home as well.

For Parents of Rising 6th Grade Students:
Autrey Mill Middle School (AMMS) will be hosting a Curriculum Parent Night on January 25, 2017 at 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm in the AMMS cafeteria. Information will be shared regarding course offerings and academic pathways for the 2017-2018 school year. We hope you can attend.

Blue Math- We will be working with learning the attribues of 2-D shapes. They will also learn how to organize these into a hierarchy of quadrilaterals and triangles. Our math test for this unit will be January 27th.
Yellow Math- Yellow math will be doing a semester 1 review. This unit covers adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. We will also learn how to find Least Common Multiples, Greatest Common Factors, and the Distributive Property. Our test over this unit will be Feb. 7th.
Social Studies- We are now learning about the Great Depression. We will learn about the 1930's and how people delt with the depression. We will also learn how the government helped with the New Deal programs. Our test over this unit will be January 25th.
