Good afternoon! Check out the blog below for some weekly updates.
- Autry Mill Middle School Field Trip - this is TOMORROW. Please have your child wear a Dolvin shirt (if possible). We will be touring with Barnwell so it will be easier to pick out students out.
- Milestones: Milestones will start the week we get back from Spring Break. I have been uploading milestone reviews weekly to my website. Please make sure you are helping your child with these reviews. We will be going over the answers in class this week as well. This week's review is just on Math! It is a PARCC practice test. It is rigorous and will be similar to the milestones. Again, we will be working on this some in class but please review it with them at home as well. 6 problems a night is not too much to do :).
- Amendments- Amendments are always a part of the end of the year test. I have uploaded several amendment notes and practice games to my website under the "Social Studies" tab. Please feel free to check these out and play a fun game with your child! We will be reviewing them in class as well.
We will continue to work on coordinate planes and functions. Students will have a quiz this THURSDAY over graphing as well as functions. Please have them review their notes nightly.
We will be starting out new unit on graphing. It is a VERY difficult unit (in my opinion). Please make sure you child is reviewing nightly. We will not test or anything until after the Milestone window is closed.
We started learning about the Cold War and Civil Rights last week. We will continue to learn about this through the week. Their homework is a great "review" for them for the test which will be THIS FRIDAY! (We need to get this done then so it will be before Milestones). Notes will be uploaded on line as we move through the unit through the week as well. Please make sure your child is reviewing nightly as well.
Thanks for reading :)
I hope everyone has a great week!!!
1 more week until 5th grade field trip!!! Please make sure all medications are in. Packing lists went home with students twice so far. If there are still any questions, please let me know! I hope everyone is excited!!
Now for some work before our fun trip :)
Chick-fil-a spirit nights! This wednesday and Thursday are chick-fil-a spirit nights! The class with the most participation get a chick-fil-a breakfast party!! We decided we would like that. :). I will be there Wednesday night around 5pm if you would like to come then!
Yellow Math- Students will take their test over composite area, volume, and surface area this Friday. Please make sure they are practicing at home. These topics involve lots of practice!

5th Grade field trip is coming up! Students who are attending need to make sure they have all of their forms and medications turned in now.
Google apps for education: My class will be testing out this new technology feature. Forms were sent home awhile ago and I am still waiting for some kids to return them to me. If they do not return them, they are not allowed to have a google account.
Blue Math: We just started our new unit covering coordinate planes this week. Students will continue to work on this for several weeks. We will not test this unit until after Milestones testing in complete. They will have learned all of the information but we are waiting to give the actual unit test. We will be reviewing all units to prepare for Milestones as well.
Yellow Math: We have been working on finding area of shapes. We will continue to find the area of composite shapes and complex figures. We will also learn about 3D shapes and how to find Volume and Surface area of these shapes. Our test for this unit will be NEXT FRIDAY, March 18th (the Friday before the 5th grade field trip).
Science: We have been learning about chemical and physical changes. Students will continue to work on this. Their Test will be NEXT WEDNESDAY, March 16th.
