I hope everyone had a very restful and fun spring break! I know I did :).
I want to thank all of your for your generous gifts and recognition during staff appreciation week. I truly enjoy teaching each and every one of my students. They are all so unique and bring such great talents to the whole class. I know they are ready for middle school but I don't want to see them go. Thanks again for allowing me to make an impact on their education and life.
Milestones- As I am sure you know, Milestones start this week. Here are a few reminders during this testing window.
Fine arts Night
Fine arts Night is this Thursday night from 5:30-7:30 with a chorus performance at 6. I hope to see you all there! The chorus is doing a Disney Dazzle theme and I could not be more excited!!
Blue Math- We are continuing our work on coordinate planes. We will test over this unit on April 28th. Students already received their study guide and should be reviewing nightly.
Yellow Math- We are starting our 6th grade Unit 3 work this week. This unit focuses on pre-algebra skills. Students will be assessed on important algebra vocabulary and their ability to solve for variables in equations. They will test over this unit on April 28th.
Social Studies- We are continuing our work on Civil Rights/Cold War unit. We will also learn about important events from 1975- present day. These important events include the collapse of communism, the Israeli conflict, war in the Middle East, and 9/11. We will also be learning about the different presidents during the 50's-present day. With this large unit, it is important for students to study nightly. Our test over this unit will be May 3rd.
Check back every week for a new post with information about the coming week.
