If you have any questions about this homework assignment, please let me know! Boosterthon!! : Boosterthon will last until Thursday. I ask that everyone sign up at funrun.com. You are not required to get pledges. However, I do hope that you are able to get some pledges in order to raise money for our school! Students get prizes based on the money they are able to raise. This program has amazing benefits to Dolvin and I hope everyone has fun!! The fun run is Thursday, March 1st and parents are invited to come and watch! Curriculum Updates: Blue Math: We have been working on Unit 6. In this unit, we will cover Volume and Measurement. We have already started learning about Volume and measurement and will continue to practice these skills this week. We will test over this unit on March 7th. (This has been moved back again! Sorry about that!!!!! ) Yellow Math: We are continuing 6th grade Unit 2. In this unit, we will cover ratios, rates, unit rates, proportions, and percents. We have already started learning about ratios, rates and unit rates last week. We will learn about changing decimals to percents and identifying percents this week. We will test over this unit on March 7th. (This has been moved back again! Sorry about that!!!) Green Math: We have started working on 6th grade unit 6. This is our statistics and probability unit. So far, we have learned about measures of center. We will continue to learn about the different graphs we can create with this data as well. We will test over this unit on March 20th. Social Studies: We have just started learning about WWII. We will discuss the causes of this war as well as the main events and people involved in the war. While this is a great unit full of historical rich content, it is also a very sad unit with some events that have effected some students and their cultures. Please have a discussion with your child about respect for history and how it had negative impacts on several cultures. Students are to be respectful throughout the unit. Our test date for this unit will be March 8th.
