A Teams link will be sent to students via Google Classroom around 10:50. Friday: Parade through Dolvin 12-2! Decorate your car, celebrate with balloons, and come parade through the decorated Dolvin parking lot! Also take some time today to watch the slideshow and the 5th grade walk!

Happy Mothers Day to all the amazing mothers who have made these amazing students of mine kind, strong, and courageous! It has been an absolute joy teaching your children this year. Thank you for all that you do to support your children and me as their teacher. We are all so lucky to have you in our lives! This week, I will only be sending out one email to all parents. Please take a minute to review the work for this week as well as some important dates for the last week of school as we unleash the lions! Week 8 work: *This is a week for students who are behind to catch up. If your child is all caught up, they can enjoy an awesome Virtual Field Trip to Disney World! All grades have been updated in Infinate Campus. I will be reaching out to the students who have missing work or dropped assignments due to low grades. I am asking that they give these another try. If they are still struggling with the content, I would be happy to set up one-on-one help sessions. If there are any grades your child would like to try again on, please let me know and I can open that assignment back up for them. Monday, May 11th, enjoy the day and have some fun completing the Dolvin Field Day 2020 Events! Tuesday, May 12th at 11AM, students will have an opportunity to interview a Dolvin parent who was in the World Trade Centers the day of the September 11th attack. The link to join this interview will be sent to students at 11AM in Google Classroom. This week, we will complete a math review while taking a virtual trip to Disney World! Students will complete 12 math problems each day focused around the 12 prioritized standards for 5th grade. Embedded within the math problems are videos of tours of different departments of Disney World including Imagineering, rides, attractions, parades, and firework shows! Kick off this fun virtual week with the Disney Family Sing Along part II tonight starting at 7pm on ABC! I will be bagging up all student personal items from student lockers which you will be able to come pick up the week of May 18th. Pick up times are between the hours of 9-11AM or 2-4PM each day. The schedules is: Monday, May 18th: A-D Tuesday, May 19th: E-K Wednesday, May 20th: L-Q Thursday, May 21st: R-Z Please bring any library books or text books that students have at home to drop off on these days as well. We would love to include some pictures from digital learning as well!
We will also be doing a virtual 5th grade walk! We need videos of your 5th grader walking towards a camera. It is very important for video quality that you take this video with your phone turned sideways (landscape) and that you send it with the highest video quality possible. *Action Item 2: Please send a video of your child walking towards the camera to [email protected] by May 8th . Title this email “Walk- student name and homeroom teacher name”
We want to add pictures/clips of families congratulating these fifth graders like you would do during the 5th grade ceremony and the 5th grade walk. Feel free to make posters or a graphic on your device to include in the final walk videos.
We will hold virtual class parties where we will play games and do a baby picture guessing game! Please send a baby picture of your 5th grader to include in a class baby picture kahoot. If possible, send a recreation of the picture as well!
