I hope everyone has had a great start to the week! Just a few reminders about the next week and a half.
Thank you so much to everyone who signed up to help out with 1920's day next Wednesday. Please remember that supplies are to be brought in by next Tuesday. The link to the sign up is below in case you don't remember if you signed up :) http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4eadaf2aaaf85-5thgrade This Friday is Kids Night Out! For only $20, students can stay at school until 8 watching movies and playing games with their favorite teachers (aka me :)- I hope!) Please bring in any permission forms by tomorrow. Blue Math: Still working with fractions. We have learned how to multiply fractions and today we started dividing. Next Tuesday, students will be tested over all operations with fractions next Tuesday. Please be reviewing these skills with them! Yellow Math: We have been learning about ratios, proportions, and unit rate. We are connecting these skills to learning about percents and converting from ratios to percents. We will keep practicing these skills in relations to problem solving and test next Tuesday. Science: We just started out last science unit of the semester today. We will be learning about matter, atoms, and "Sum of Parts"- meaning that the mass of an object is equal to the sum of the mass of its parts. Our test for this unit will be next Thursday. I know some kids are burnt out with everything we are getting in before the semester ends but we see the light! Only a few more days. I know we can do it successfully! Thanks for everything you do.
