Good morning parents! Please take a minute and review the communication that was sent out in the Dolvin Diary yesterday involving grades: [Quick Summary]
Using this guidance, Dolvin teachers will determine which 7 Remote Learning assignments from the 4th Quarter will be required for satisfactory completion in ELA and which 7 assignments for Math. The assignments selected will be communicated to families. Additionally, teachers will directly reach out to the students (and parents of students) who have not completed these assignments to let them know these assignments are required toward the 70 percent completion requirement. If students complete the assignments and require further instruction to help gain a better understanding of the standards covered, teachers will work directly with those student(s) through live meetings, recorded lessons, or other methods. Teachers will then allow students to redo any parts of the assignment where they did not demonstrate a satisfactory understanding of the standards covered. 4th Quarter grade reporting in Infinite Campus will reflect the following:
*Students with 30% or more of the assignments marked “I” may be required to attend summer school for either ELA or Math. Discretion will be used to determine which students will attend summer school regardless of the 70%. Students are still expected to complete 35 minutes of math, 35 minutes of ELA, and 20 minutes of specials every day. I am hoping that by keeping them on a schedule, they will feel a little more stable during this time of uncertainty. I also want to make sure students are prepared to start their middle school career with a bang! If there is ever a time when completing work is a challenge, please reach out and I can offer assistance. I will be entering "grades" throughout this next week and will reach out if your child is missing any of the assignments that will be entered into Infinate Campus. Happy Friday! Today is our last day of digital learning before we head into spring break. I hope everyone gets to take some time over spring break to disconnect from the devices we have been glued to while working remote. Many people, like myself, have had their spring break plans canceled but that does not mean you still can't have an awesome, relaxing, and fun spring break! I encourage you and your families to find something new and fun to do at home. Explore the backyard, find a new game to play, build a blanket fort on a rainy day, paint a room of the house, or plant a garden! I would LOVE to see all the fun things you find. Send me a picture or a few of what you do over spring break and I will make a little presentation for the kids to share after spring break.
