Classroom Updates:
Hearts for Houston: We are raising money for classrooms in Houston. We will be graphing the money raised by each grade level in the cafeteria. Students who are able to donate will get a heart to display with their name on it in the cafeteria. I am encouraging our class to band together to help those in need. Let's live to give and help raise money for classrooms in Houston! If you are able to donate, any donations is appreciated!! Fall Conferences: To sign up for a fall conference, please click on the link HERE. Please remember, you will have access to how your child is doing in all subjects but we ask that you meet only with the homeroom teacher first. If there is immediate need to meet with your child's PM teacher, please email them directly. IOWA: Students will be taking the IOWA test next week. The schedule is below. It is very important that they are getting a good night sleep and arrive on time to school. 9/25 Reading; Vocabulary 9/26 Written Expression; Spelling; Capitalization; Punctuation 9/27 Math; Math Computation 9/28 Science; Social Studies Curriculum Updates: Blue Math: We are working on 5th grade Unit 2. In this unit, students will work on decimal place value, rounding decimals, comparing decimals, and adding and subtracting decimals. Students should be reviewing their notes nightly. We will test over this unit on October 11th. Yellow Math: We are working on 5th grade Unit 5. This unit focuses on shape attributes. Students should be reviewing their notes nightly. We will test over this unit on October 11th. Green Math: We are working on 6th grade Unit 2. This unit covers ratios and rates. Students should be reviewing their notes nightly. We will test over this unit on October 11th. Social Studies: We have started our Turn of the Century Unit in Social Studies. We will assess over this unit on October 4th.
